Family Day | Corpus Christi

As we finally settled in Corpus Christi we saw that the training wing was hosting a family day for everyone to see what training is like here in Texas. Corpus Christi has two aircraft here for training, the T6 and T44. As Marshall flew the T6 in Primary training in Florida, we headed over to the flight line to see his new aircraft, the T44, that he will be flying here during Advanced training.

The students were able to take all of their families onto the flight line and into the academic buildings. Marshall is over the moon with his career, so I love seeing the joy it brings him and I love learning, or nodding my head and smiling, when he tells me all about it.

We started the day by heading onto the flight light where we climbed into the T44. Brooks was not amused, but I cannot wait until he starts understanding and seeing what Daddy does. The T44 is used to train the students in a multiengine aircraft, while the intermediate helicopter training with the TH57, in Florida, was used to train vertical flight. Both aircraft help relate to how the Osprey will fly.

Naturally, we stopped at the T6 to take a family photo. Our last photo with a T6 I was 3 months pregnant with Brooks. Click here to see our T6 photo shoot. Now having our little guy and having our picture taken in front of it brought me so much joy (even though Brooks looks less than amused)! I do not plan on ever getting over how much I love having this little boy in our lives.

The base firefighters were on the flight line as well. The new firetruck was so cool! It can drive while spraying water and is built for driving on tough terrains. Praying we never need them, but it was amazing to see them and how their jobs are different working on a military base.

Inside the training building, we saw the simulators that the students test in before flying the aircraft. Wow, did it make me motion sick! There is a reason Marshall is the one that flies and I do not, haha!

Lastly, we stopped in the hangar where some planes are being fixed.

It was so fun to see everything up close and personal. Safe to say we loved the family day and are so glad the training wing works hard to put it on.
