Year TWO

TWO years have come and gone since we said our vows.

This last year has been one we will never forget. WE BECAME PARENTS!

We spent our first anniversary knowing we would be parents but kept it a secret for a few more weeks (our one-year anniversary wine is being enjoyed this year). We then let our secret out and began telling family and friends about our newest addition.

In April, my parents came down and we headed to the beach for our reveal. When the blue smoke filled the air, we knew Baby was a boy! We enjoyed the rest of their visit watching the Blue Angels and shopping for all things Baby.

Before we knew it, the summer months quickly approached. We picked strawberries, watched birds hatch on our porch, took lots of beach trips, and of course lots of ice cream trips. We got to see Brooks grow and see he was healthy in his anatomy scan. We had visits from my sister, friends, and inlaws. We traveled to spend Independence Day with our friends in Alabama. I traveled to Pennsylvania for my sister’s wedding and Marshall and I found out we were gaining the title of Uncle and Aunt to a nephew!

August was a memorable month as Marshall got promoted and we found out he was selected to fly the MV-22 Osprey for the Marine Corps. I was blessed with a surprise baby shower from my friends in Florida. We ventured to New Orleans where we enjoyed way too much food, the WWII museum, and time together with one another for the last trip before we became a family of 3!

Once home we decorated our little boy’s nursery, visited the zoo, fed giraffes, and got all of the last details set. Our nephew surprised us all and made his appearance 2 months early. We fell in love with him and counted down the days until our little guy joined our growing family, so the cousins could become best friends! At the end of October, my parents flew in to stay with Rowan, our pup, and Marshall and I went to the hospital on October 29th.

11:59 am October 30th, we welcomed Brooks Dean into this world. We were blessed with meals from friends, visits, and a ton of help from my parents and sisters. Marshall finished his intermediate training where he trained in the TH-57 helicopters and in December we packed up to say goodbye to our home and headed to Texas. We had, what I hope will stay, our worst move with so many of our items damaged. We got away from the mess and flew to Pennsylvania for Christmas and to celebrate the New Year. Finally getting to show off baby boy to family and friends.

Coming back to Texas in January, Marshall’s training in the T-44 began and I took on my new role as a stay-at-home mom. We have met some amazing new friends, grown friendships, and began to explore our new state. A trip to Magnolia Silos with friends happened and we have already made a dent in our food bucket list of Texas.

Our second year of marriage we were filled will love and excitement. Spending my life with my best friend has been amazing and I love seeing everything this second year married has brought us. Cheers to TWO and many more.
